Mueller Systems : Improve customer service and help consumers improve water conservation
Mi.Data Web Portal for Utilities and Consumers

As water rates rise, educating consumers on the importance of water conservation and how water usage can influence monthly utility bills will play an increasingly significant role in providing good customer service. Mi.Data is the first web-based portal that provides consumers with a consolidated view of their water and electricity usage online to better understand their usage, improve usage behavior and communication with their utility.

Mi.Data helps utilities:

    • Improve customer service
    • Educate consumers on the importance of conservation
    • Address non-revenue water
    • Promote consumer acceptance of rate increases
    • Reduce billing "surprises"
    • Improve communication with consumers

What is Mi.Data?
Mi.Data is an interactive and easy-to-use web portal that is part of the Mi.Net™ Mueller Infrastructure Network for Utilities AMI system. Usage data that is collected and stored by the Mi.Net system is graphically presented to consumers in a format that allows them to easily monitor their water consumption, compare current usage to previous periods, configure individual alerts, and set budget and water conservation goals.

How it Works for Utilities and Consumers.
Consumers and municipalities can configure Mi.Data to display only water usage, or water and electricity usage on the portal's Home Page. Informational alerts such as water bans, leak alerts and budgetary threshold alerts are displayed in the Mi.Messages section, which can also be configured by consumers and municipalities according to their preferences.

An easy-to-read graph helps consumers to easily monitor their water usage and estimate their usage costs before getting the shock of a monthly bill. Answers to frequently asked billing questions are included to the right of the graph, and consumers can communicate online with customer service representatives. By answering potential questions and facilitating an additional communication channel, Mi.Data provides extra support that can help customer service departments assist consumers in a more timely fashion.

Comparisons to previous time periods (by day, week, or month) using difference charts and overlaid graphs can help consumers better understand their usage and identify data anomalies that indicate potential water leaks in their households.

Mi.Net. Intelligence that Drives the Network.
The Mi.Net Mueller Infrastructure Network for Utilities is a communications network that fully automates the meter reading-to-billing process and links meters, distribution sites and control devices in a single, highly efficient data network. Mi.Net's scalability enables utilities to deploy new technologies in stages that are best suited to their needs and budgets.
